HOSTAL PORTUGAL, Barcelona – A Smart Stay in the City

The hotel is situated in a fantastic location near La Rambla and close to public transportation. The rooms are comfortable, but some lighting improvements are needed and privacy concerns were experienced. The service is excellent with friendly and helpful staff. The hotel location is a major highlight, although some improvements in room security are required.

My stay at the hotel was a mix of positives and negatives. The rooms, though quite essential, had some interesting features like air conditioning and roller shutters. The service was friendly and accommodating, except for the loud TV at the reception. The location, right by the Ramblas, was fantastic, but the bed and walls were not comfortable. Dining options were abundant in the neighborhood, and the facilities were adequate.

The hotel's location is prime, near the port and Las Ramblas. I found it convenient to access various spots, though the noise from a nearby bar was bothersome at night. The service was friendly, even if there was a language barrier at times. Regrettably, the rooms felt claustrophobic with little external views, but they were clean. Dining wasn't offered, but the location made up for it with plenty of eateries around. Overall, a good experience for the most part.

The location was fantastic, with easy access to the Gothic Quarter, public transport, the beach, and La Rambla. The dining options in the neighborhood were abundant, so no issues there. Overall, a great experience with minor room temperature concerns and some safety considerations near the port area.

While the rooms appeared slightly different from the pictures, they met basic needs, though they are on the smaller side with only one shared bathroom for the entire hostel. The location is excellent being close to Las Ramblas, a convenient spot for accessing Barcelona's key attractions. The service was accommodating and friendly, even helping with room changes and offering restaurant recommendations. Dining options were limited within the neighborhood, but the surrounding area offered plenty of eateries. Overall, a decent choice for a budget-friendly stay near the heart of Barcelona.
